4 Big Moments to Share for his big 8th Month

In the last week we have had some pretty memorable moments.

The first one is not a good one. Sam got the Croup for the first time! He work up sounding like a seal and having a harder time breathing. I called a friend who immediately knew from the sound of him that he had the croup! I took him in to the doctor that day and was proscribed baby steroids to help him breath that we had to give him 2 times a day. Of course, Sam was SO good and never really complained. He is such an amazing baby! He started to feel better right away - so we were very thankful!

We also have been trying to get him on a nap/sleeping schedule that has been going very well. He has slept through the night for the last week! And has been on a great nap schedule too! Pat was the one to get this rolling and I am so thankful! It is great for all of us! :)

Then, Sammy ate Chicken for the first time! His first non-veggie or fruit meal!!! I made some baby food from bakes chicken, sweet potatoes and chicken broth. At first he was not so sure about it, but about a week and several times after it he was a fan. I cannot believe he is growing up so fast!

Speaking of growing up, Sam pulled himself up for the FIRST time today! He had his little activity table that he was sitting by, he reached up and just up he went! My little baby just keeps on growing up....I am so proud to be his mommy!

Sammy is growing up so fast!

In just the past few weeks Sam has gone from struggling to eat finger foods to shoveling it in there like it is going out of style! He loves the puffs and the wagon wheels! He can now tackle avacado and bananas like nobodys business!

Aside from the food developments, he now is quite the mover! He can scoot/crawl around pretty dang well! And he LOVES cords. I could have every bright, lighted, flickering, noisy toy in the house going and he would scoot right past them to grab the phone cord. I don't know what it is about Sam and cords, but man, he loves them!

Here is the big boy sitting up playing with one of his favorite toys! He sat up all my himself!!! he is growing up so fast!

Sam's First Time at Target Field

Pat took Sam to Target Field for the open house. Sam loved seeing the field he will visit many times this year and he loved wearing his new Twins jacket.

Berglund's Cabin

Here is Sam and Lou sitting up!


The Connell's headed up to our friend's cabin last Friday and it was a blast! Pat and I had a nice ride up while Sammy slept. When we got there we were greeted by Lou, who is 2 months older than Sam, and Max who is 3. The kids had a great time playing with each other, well, actually more like staring at each other, but it was still fun! They both are just learning how to sit up so that was the cool thing to do.
It's funny - we are now the people at the cabin I used to feel so badly for! We were up at 6 AM with our kid when I can remember the days when I was comfy in my bed until the afternoon. Oh, how times have changed!
